Keywords play a crucial role in the world of SEO. They help to optimize our content for search engines and make it easier for internet users to find the information or products they are looking for. Understanding the different types of keywords used in SEO and how to use them effectively is an essential requirement for anyone who wants to achieve success online.
The first one I am going to talk about is
Target Keywords
They are keywords you want to rank for on the Google search engine results page (SERP). They are words or phrases people use when searching for information related to your business. Examples, Types of Pizza, Cakes for birthdays, Sports shoe brands, etc.
Ask yourself, if I am the one looking for the type of services or products I offer, what kind of words would I type in Google search? Yeah! Those words are target keywords.
Semantic Keywords
They are words or phrases that are closely related or tied to your target keyword or topic. They provide extra layers of meaning and relationship between words. Also, they help search engines understand what your content is all about. Quality content should also talk about other things related to the target keyword.
For example, You want to rank for “how to make soap” ( that’s your target keyword). Semantic Keywords include ingredients for soap making, raw materials for homemade soap, main ingredients of soap, etc. Target keywords like “Credit Cards” should have Semantic Keywords like money, credit score, interest rate, etc.
So sprinkle them around your content.
Loyalty Keywords
They are words that help existing and potential customers to trust what you do and use your services. Here, you have words like cemented, always, committed, consistent, dedicated, devoted, over the years, our standard, uncompromising.
Confidence Keywords
They are words that encourage customers to purchase more in the beginning and turn to you for ongoing support. They are words of affirmation. Examples include capable, count on, every single time, equipped, dependable, most reliable, pioneers, only, experts, proven, recommended, trusted, specialty, doubt no longer, guide, and got you covered.
Curiosity keywords
They are compelling words that get your target audience to explore your brand and click through to your content. Examples; remarkable, bonuses, that you didn’t know you needed, brilliant, change your mind, discover, fascinating, favorite, overlooked.
Fear keywords
You know fear can be healthy if it is to spur your targeted audience to take action that will be to their benefit. Examples are beware, avoid, danger, caution, mistakes, miss, prevent, protect your, risk, vulnerable, unacceptable, violate.
Reassurance Keywords

Don’t use
Click-bait words, that is, trying to entice people to act with highly emotional words. Those words are often perceived as something related to scams or stuff that has duping intent. When used, sends off a bad signal and can scare people away from what you offer that might be beneficial to them. They include mind-blowing, Jaw-dropping, mind-bending, shocking etc.
Remember, keywords are very crucial for the success of your online presence. Be creative and use them naturally in your online journey.
